In today's society access to electricity has become a key to development and a comfortable life-style. There are however areas of the world where there is no access to a public grid.

Therefore Studer Innotec has developed a clever energy solution for village electrification by creating independent electrical networks, Minigrids. In a minigrid all participants are producing their own, mostly renewable, energy as well as being part of an electrical network. Being part of a network gives the participants the possibility to consume more energy than produced if needed, to inject energy in the common grid once their household loads are supplied and even sell energy to the other minigrid members.
